FAIR TRADE
We regularly receive inquiries asking if Little Mango is a
fair trade organization. We feel that it is important to
let our customers know the ways in which Little Mango
strives to help improve the lives of the Mayan people whom
we do business with and those we encounter during our
travels to Guatemala. We ARE a fair trade organization in
every sense of the word. We choose not to be affiliated
with any large organizations. Though in most instances
their intention is good and they do many good things for
people in developing countries, unfortunately there are
many administrative costs involved and they are unable to
monitor the business dealings of their members fully, which
at times can lead to misrepresentation. Realize that just
because a company is a member of a fair trade organization
doesn't necessarily mean they are honest in their business
dealings. We have seen this first hand. Please understand
that this is not meant to insult or degrade any
organization, it is only our view based upon what we have
experienced.
